General Grad News Items

  1. Parent & student grad executive meetings will be monthly.  Meeting dates: November 13th, February 12th, March 11th, April 15th and June 11th.  A general meeting for all grads and parents is May 13th
  2.  These meetings will be in the school library at 7:30 p.m.
  3. We really encourage any grads to come and be an active part of the decision making for their grad !!!!

  • grads will receive 3 very important newsletters with detailed information and forms to be filled out.  Please pay attention to deadlines for handing information in to the office.
  • occasionally grads will be called down during class time to get updates
  • students should check the grad board for updates.

We have an approved logo and a student committee. Clothing samples will be available to try on next week.  Russell athletic wear including hoodies and sweat pants will be available to order.  Yoga pants and jackets will also be available this year.

Grads please remember there is a lot of information on the grad board upstairs at the school.  It is updated constantly, so please check it often.

Guiding Youth Workshop – Parents and students are invited to attend the Guiding Youth workshop with a dynamic career consultant, Kristen Cumming on November 14 @ 6:30 pm in the OHS library.  The workshop will provide practical advice for parents as they “guide” their children with career planning.

Post-Secondary Review Evening – Students, parents and community members are invited to attend the annual Olds High School Post-Secondary Review evening held at Student Alumni building at the Olds College on Monday, November 19th from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  Representatives from numerous post-secondary institutions from across Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan will be available to provide information to students and parents.

Post-Secondary Plan – Students and parents are strongly encouraged to visit potential post-secondary institutions for information on open houses or student for a day activities.  Check websites for details !!

Scholarship Information- The scholarship binder is being circulated among Grade 12 students.  Please return the binder to Mrs. Statchuk after 2-3 days as other students want to sign it out.  New scholarship information is continuously arriving and the binders need to be updated.
