It was the season for riding the rollercoaster.  The Spartans stumbled out of the gate to have the worst start in team history with 3 straight loses to Strathmore, Rundle College, and Canmore before turning it all around with wins over Innisfail, Drumheller and Highwood.  The 3 and 3 record was good enough to finish 3rd in the Big Sky Conference.  Playoffs saw the Spartans travel back to Drumheller for the second time, but unlike the first meeting, the score did not favour the Spartans.

The Spartan award winners are:
MVP Keith Lanz and Ryan Block
Top Offensive Player – Keegan Beal
Top Defensive Player – Mitch Welland
Top Lineman – Shea Strocher
Rookie – Clinton Armitage
Player Contributing the Most – Casey Bateman, Thomas Patterson
Heart award – Ryley Prescott, Logan Grenier

By the Numbers:

3 – Number of wins and losses in the regular season

2 – Number of thumbs broken on the Spartans this year

8 – Average number of Greyhounds the players ran every practice
